Regenerative Gum Surgery

The hallmark of gum disease is bone loss around teeth.  In some situations, the lost bone due to gum disease can be regenerated to certain extent, in addition to periodontal ligament, which is the ligament that connects the bone to the tooth root surface. Regenerative gum surgery refers to surgeries whose goal is to achieve re-growth of bone and periodontal ligament around teeth.  This type of procedure can be done using laser technology, bone grafting materials, barrier membrane, and/or growth factors.
